Automation1 iXL2e Enhanced, Compact Linear Servo Drive with Motion Controller
Control your machine and motor to incredibly high levels of precision with the Automation1 iXL2e compact linear servo motor drive with full motion controller. This highly integrated, high-performance precision motion control device enables low noise and high precision motor control by combining high-end, low noise linear power amplifiers, precision servo control technology and a full motion controller in a compact form factor—all without sacrificing high-end controller features. The iXL2e’s linear amplifier circuitry eliminates switching noise and deadtime, enabling the higher-precision, low EMI noise control required for eddy current inspection, sensor testing and high-precision position and velocity tracking. It is also ideal for small step size and in-position stability applications.

Automation1
The iXL2e is a part of the user-friendly Automation1 motion control platform, which includes the following:
Superior Performance, Complete Control
The iXL2e’s performance is superior to other linear amplifier products on the market. In addition, it comes with the full capability of an Aerotech motion controller. When deployed to an iXL2e drive, the Automation1-iSMC motion controller can control up to twelve axes of motion over the Automation1 HyperWire® communication bus. You can truly control a full machine or system with this device. All axes are tightly coordinated with other axes on the network to deliver contoured motion and a single, simple machine control architecture.
Extend Your I/O
Configure the Automation1-iSMC with the appropriate industrial ethernet options and connect additional third-party devices, completing your control architecture – or simply configure the iXL2e with the onboard IO expansion option.
Lead The Industry
Lead your industry in performance and capabilities when you integrate the iXL2e into your machine or system design. The iXL2e has a highly integrated design which includes high-end component choices for the power amplifier and control circuits. This enables systems built on the iXL2e to achieve the most accurate position tracking, the highest level of in-position stability and the smallest minimum step sizes.
See how Automation1 servo drives improve in-position stability.
Standard features include safe torque off (STO), a data array with more than 67 MB of memory, dedicated home and end-of-travel limit inputs and an enhanced current sense device. The iXL2e accepts square-wave and absolute encoder feedback signals. With the optional encoder multiplier feature, you can multiply sine-wave encoders by up to 65,536. Dual-multiplied and dual-absolute encoder feedback is supported.
The iXL2e is more than a motion control device -- it also includes many process control features. Empowered with our PSO functionality, a single-axis iXL2e can track up to three encoders in real time to trigger a process tool like an industrial laser or camera. Each iXL2e can be configured with an optional I/O expansion board that includes a dedicated PSO output, and PSO can be used with a synchronization input to synchronize process control with an external mode-locked frequency input. A 24-volt, one amp brake output is included. The device is CE approved, NRTL safety certified and EU 2015/863 RoHS 3 directive certified. The power amplifier bandwidth is software selectable.
